Yes indeed, I bumped into a photo-journalist who was using one of the pro-level Nikons, and the clear grid is certainly a useful thing to have, and not at all distracting. The SD15 shutter sounds nicer though - perhaps his was a well-worn example.
Will investigate the new firmware...
